Our videos

This video is of Adele playing the near-mythical Ab clarinet. We are performing Waltzing Soprilda - arranged especially for ICC by Nigel Wood. You can find more of our videos on YouTube.

Recordings

We have made several recordings at the University of Surrey. Here is one of them: Comic Polka, arranged by Craig for him to play on Contrabass Clarinet.

Conductor

Our Conductor

We are conducted by Ian Rogers.

Ian has played clarinet and sax in a wide range of orchestras, wind bands, chamber groups, jazz bands and dance bands. These have included the ICC and the British Clarinet Ensemble, and music has taken him to France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, Germany, Luxembourg, Austria and Latvia.

In 2019, he played a concert of English clarinet trios at the European Clarinet Festival in Camerino, Italy; and played in a workshop of clarinet choir works by members of the Colchester New Music composers group. In 2020, Ian will perform at the ECA Festival in Gyor, Hungary - with both the Thanet Clarinet Trio and the British Clarinet Ensemble.

He has conducted ICC since 2015 and is working with us on expanding our repetoire to include different styles and as much new music as we can.

Ian has an ATCL Diploma in clarinet performance and a PGCHE education qualification, and has had lessons in conducting from Rodolfo Saglimbeni, Shea Lolin and Emma Oliver-Trend.

He is also one of the conductors of East Kent Clarinet Band, and has recently been guest conducting East Anglian Single Reed Choir.
